SUP BEETCHES?

ran us some errands, i returned my halloween costume. picked up some shoelaces and track-pants. used our coupons @ a&w for hot free burger + rootbeer float action. home, hung out, carved pumpkins and enjoyed the day. the sink developed a slow drain so i ran out to g&g and got some drano and SWORE this was the last errand i was running for the day. the kids started coming in packs once it was slightly dark enough so we went through 4 bags of candy by 7pm, i had to run out and get more. (even though i SWORE) after they started dying down a bit we put on patton and ate punkin seeds that ern had made earlier. it was a nice mellow halloween, a melloween.
woke up early, ern is all done with the marathon stuff so we got a saturday together. did some errands and grocery shopping then i went over to daryl's and worked on his computer. he gave me his new cd, "saint rose parish" which i will formally write about once i have a chance to formally listen to it. ern had an appointment with the hotel la rose to check out having the reception/ceremony there. i came home and took a nap, then we got our shit ready for the halloween party. good pics, i'll upload when im not so lazy. party was nice. lots of ppl and good costumes. i drank a good amount but didnt get buzzed, which was odd. when we were leaving, a big college party across the street had 3 cop cars parked out front and just a whole mess of people. one guy fell right on his drunk ass in front of us so we helped him into his embarrassed girlffriend's car.

crit?: 0today is my five year anniversary at work. they gave me a lucky bamboo but i dont have natural light in my office so i'll probably have to take it home to the studio. if three of those years had been full time, i'd have 3 weeks vacation onw, instead of 2. i'm trying to get them to count the 3yrs part time as one + year full time so that i'm eligible for the company cabin/vacation bonus thing.
crit?: 2woo! woke up @ 3am to take ern to her marathon starting line. ern's aunt got food poisoning from the indian food the night before so others were up too. ian went with us to the start line cause he lives in the city and knows it better. we dropped her off then i drove my car through the finish line. unscripted we both raised our arms in a v and went "yay" in a meh-ish manner. it was pretty funny for 4am. picked up pedialyte then went back to their house. went back to sleep @ 5 till 9 then we went to watch ern cross the finish. she did good! 26.2 miles in 5.5hrs. her knees and feet are wrecked now. bruises everywhere and her middle toes on both feet are black. lunch @ mel's then we went to ikea for A NEW DUVET COVER, which means i never have to look at new duvet covers or talk about new duvet covers for at least a year. thank bishnu for that. home> watched lost boys then bed. we were both exhausted. me, from being in the city like a trooper all weekend, and ern for that 26miles thing she did. yay me!
...
kidding of course
ern ended up raising $2500 for the leukemia and lymphoma society and she was a finisher in the nike 26.2 in san francisco. tuxedoed men from tiffany's handed out little baggies with a necklace for finishers and a nice nike shirt with a sf/vector art look to it. i had a pretty good finish line vantage point and it was a little bit emo when some of the people crossed over. they'd been running or walking or whatever for nigh 30miles and some of them were honest-to-gosh crying. it kinda drove home how important the fundraising thing is. ern said the fundraising tally was @ $10 million for this year.
woke> denny's> errands> drove to SF to union sqaure to pick up marathon stuff, then to the hilton for other stuff> ern's cousins house>ern's cousin's parent's house>they have an amazing view from their balcony on leavenworth next to curvy/lombard. the view looks at the bay/coit tower.>back to cousin's house for sleep>slept.

today we were supposed to go to marine world with derek & company, but it was raining when we woke up. hemmed and hawed over that for a while then decided to just not go. derek and others ended up going though. we went to safeway and picked up soup + foccacia then went home and watched the punisher the movie. after that i was itchy to get back to a drawing i was working on last night so i shlepped out to the studio. grr bad drawing day. i fucked up last night's starts and then couldn't get anything else working. all of my paper was frustrating me and i didn'tt have any of the good meridian stuff i like so i came in and started googling around for it. apparently a lot of people like that paper and miss it. someone found a link to an art store that sells it online so i bought three pads. walked down to riley street after that but they had closed already. they didn't carry it last time i was there though so it was probably a dead end anyway. i hope that online store doesn't screw me over.
...
ugh. googled for "pentalic meridian" which is the official name i guess and riley street was link #1. maybe they've started carrying it again. i'll check tomorrow i suppose. i wonder if they sell single sheet 22x30" ?
woke up early with erny. she went to her marathon training and i went to the mall for the santa rosa apple mini store opening. there were only 15 people or so ahead of me. someone brought out warm and fresh krispy kremes. i think his name was jim. jim introduced the rest of the staff and we waited around for a bit more. coworker q showed up and then ern showed up after she had freshened up and changed. 10mins later or so and they lowered the blackout curtain and raise the gate. the inside of the store is wonderful. it's like being inside a g5 tower. everything is aluminum and white plastic. there isnt really any definitive light source, though the ceilign appeared to be translucent white plastic. coworker q is an construction estimator/project manager and he said it was a really preicey build. he said the floor was epoxy and was a really good installation of it. all of the sales/pos equipment was buried behind aluminum dummy panels. when closed the only giveaway was little lines where the parts seperated. the doors leading back to the stock room didnt even seem to be doors until they were opening or closing. it was like bing at a gallery art opening. we ended up buying ern a pink mini ipod and an itrip for her 15gb ipod that now belongs to ME. the shirts they were giving out were black, with santa rosa apple store on the front. the problem with them though, is that they were giving out size xlarge. ern says she can make them fit us though by dissasembling then reassembling with the sewing machine i got her for her bday.
