I imagine you just sit in your studio and stare at photos of mutilated bodies and dentistry textbooks.
Really beautiful. When your drawings become this abstract, is when they really seem to "sing."
Posted by Calvin Ross Carl at March 18, 2007 12:43 PMMy studio has been jinxed lately. I've been drawing at the kitchen table for the last... 5 drawings? It's kind of hard to explain, but for now I'm avoiding it. I get superstitious like that.
Really no! I researched crabs and lobsters and stuff, but the rest is just mindjunk.
Thanks, I'm hoping I can make the other two (this is the left of a triptych) pop as well.
Posted by eric bostrom at March 18, 2007 12:59 PMYou are certainly developing the persona of the romantic artist. Too afraid to go into the studio for superstitious reasons. That's beautiful. It's just sad because it looks like you have a fantastic studio. Hopefully you find your way back in there soon.
Posted by Calvin Ross Carl at March 18, 2007 03:23 PMThis is kind of ridiculous, but I _just_ moved into the studio this very moment. Just got done clearing & cleaning one of my big ol drawing desks. The house got too loud and distracting... weird coincidence eh?
I'ma give it a whirl and see if it fucks up the progress I've made on this next drawing.
Posted by eric bostrom at March 18, 2007 03:31 PMGone to eat waffles, be back tomorrow morning. Be there or be confetti-rainbows and glitter.
Posted by funka at March 18, 2007 06:01 PMFunka is weird, but now I want waffles.
Posted by Calvin Ross Carl at March 18, 2007 10:28 PMWaffles man, they've got the power over the people.
